I have 10 cm crack in the tail of my tranny. I assume the rear bearing got to hot and cracked the housing about 1mm. Can I remove the tail end and replace it if my shaft is still in good shape. I was hoping to find a salvage.

I have no idea. There is a huge salvage in Oklahoma City that is not run by very reputable people. Everyone I know that has dealt with them has had bad luck. I am only an hour away, and I get my used parts shippedfrom Florida.

If you just need the housing, I have a buddy that may have one. Might be cheaper than getting a whole new one...

 

If my housing is cracked I assume the race(inner race)on the bearing is taken it's toll on the shaft. I have not taken the rear seal off yet, and again I do not know much about this. I appreciate all the help.
