Default can't get grease out of the front driveshaft

Hey all I rebuilt my driveshaft recently and have it installed fine but I can't seem to get grease out of all 4 seals on any of them. I've blown through a few tubes now and I can't get it to work.

How long ago did you rebuild? Is the grease just squeezing out around the zerk? If you can't move grease through the u-joint, it is toast. As grease gets older, it gets cooked by the heat from the cat. Keeping the grease fresh keeps it working. Once it's solid from the heat it loses it lubricity.

After redoing mine, I could only get grease out of 2. I ziptied a scrap of paper towel around the joint with the most discharge, and was then able to get machine grease out of the other two.

I then drove it around for a couple hundred miles. After that, the grease came pretty easily out of all 4.

Okay. Well that's a different story then. If it had been six months and no grease coming through I say it was cooked.

You might be able to just go for a 20 mile drive...just something to limber the joints a little.

Sometimes hitting the yokes with a hammer will loosen up the caps enough to get grease out of the caps, but if the zip-tie and paper towel approach works it sounds like a good way to go.

I guess I'll have to bust out my official land rover adjustment tool
