Default Can't Start

Hey all,
I'm new to the list and looking for some help. Please forgive my ignorance, as my knowledge of Land Rover is limited. My 94 Discovery has been sitting in my driveway for a few months now and I need to get it running again. The nearest affordable mechanic is 25 miles away and I can't afford to have it towed. I've been working on it now and then, but haven't had much success. I replaced the starter last week after I pulled the old one out and had it tested. I don't even have the manual I bought. The book was in the car and a family of mice invaded the car and made a nest of it...Murphy's Law. I called the local dealer and they said it might have something to do with the alarm system.

The engine won't turn over. Nothing, not even a clicking noise when I turn the key. Any ideas on the next step I should take? Right before it died it sometimes it would start fine other times is did nothing when I turned the key. I first thought it might be the neutral safety switch...sometimes it seemed to help if I wiggled the key. Please any information would be appreciated.

Thanks

Sleeping Dog

Were you having starting problem when you let the truck sit a few months ago?
Have you checked to see if you are getting power to the started, have you tried jump starting the truck or running a jumper cable to the starter?

Disco Mike,
Thanks for grounding me, but yes I tested the battery and it was fully charged, I even tried a different "working" battery with same amp...nothing. Tried jumping it, nothing.I checked the hot lead from the battery to the starter...continuity exists. I wish it could be so simple. What might be next?

When you turn the key on, does the dash light up? Get under the truck and test voltage at the starter see what you got. It might be the neutral lockout switch, so check that too. I have seen 3 people now on this forum that had their ignition switches go out. Don't rule it out, just check the easier things first.
