so i washed off my truck last night under the hood and all i was careful not to get the important parts too wet. ever since my car has been idling and running really rough. at first i thought it was just because it was wet but it is still acting up?!! any advice? I've never heard of a car breaking down because of washing it off!!! ha ha

One or more of your electrical connection are still wet.
Start at the plug wires with WD-40 pull them off one at a time and
spray inside the boot . then try restarting it this may take awhile.
After the plug wires both ends if you still have a problem its time
to pull the other ele/con's one at a time.
Do not use WD40 use dielectric grease.
Some times things will dry out after a few days, but if you do'nt find the
problem now the first big puddle you go in off road it will find you
that would be my luck anyway.
Do pull the electrical plug with care.
LOL Mike.

Don't know which year you have, but if it is pre '96, I would check the Distributor cap, Wires (as mentioned by Landzu), and the Solenoid.

You can also test the wires with a spray bottle on 'mist'. if you see arcing, you have a bad wire. If you have a bad one, I woulde replace entire set with new wires. I like the silicone ones.

You know what the WD stands for, right? It was invented by some of the engineers at Boeing, when they needed to develop something to dry out parts. They went through a series of formulas of Water Displacement mixes, before settling on 40. WD-40. And now you know.
