Car wash killed 97 Disco
My son ran his 97 Disco thru an automatic carwash and it died in the middle of the wash. now it will turn over but won't start any ideas on what might have happened? thanks for the help.
That is a hard one to answer with out going thru and checking. You don't have a distributor to get wet, which is good. Have you checked to see if there is any spark, any fuel pressure?
I was my engine at the car was every 2 weeks with high pressure and never had a problem.
Does it turn over at it's usual speed, does it sound like it wants to start??

Well, It wasn't anyhting to do with the carwash, it seems it was just the fuel pumps time to go. i did replace the pump with much cheaper GM style pump. $67.00 vs. 400+ from the Dealer. It was a simple change and everything was a perfect fit. The part number for the pump was Master or Airtex brands E3240, NAPA P70046. just replace the pump only with out all housing, float etc.
Thanks for helping out a newbie.

I just did a google search for land rover fuel pumps and there was a couple of sights describing the change. the only thing I had to do different was put a hose clamp on the fuel line. The original plastic line got stretched when trying to get it off. The website noted that you may have to change the wiring but mine was a wired the same. Good luck.
