Default CarFax Service Record - What do you think?

Hey guys,

I'm looking at a '00 Disco with 45k miles. Here is the CarFax service record... what do you think? Does it appear to have been taken care of?

Plus- QUESTION: Does "Corporate Fleet Lease" mean it was a company car, or a company bought it new to lease? THANKS!!

LOL! you've got me figured out dont you Pat?
Yes company fleet means that a company bought it and handed it to somebody to drive or it was in the motor pool to be driven by whoever. There is no way to know for 100% which one it was without talking to that company.
With only 45,000 miles I really dont think you can go wrong, even if it was beat to death.
When my wife had a company car it was a Chevy Cavalier, she changed the oil once a year, or every 25-30,000 miles. The Voyager card was what she paid for fuel and oil changes with. Yes she drove that car that much per year, it was a piece of crap car and she was the fourth person to drive it.
But I tend to think that a compnay that spends $45,000 on a company car has it serviced at the dealer and that kind of company has executivesdrive their cars.
Indianapolis is only a 6 hour drive, make a weekend out of it.
I didnt like the white until I took it home, then I fell in love.

She's actually residing in Chicago now- the guy at the dealer said that the guy who owned this one loved it so much that when an '04 came in with 13k miles (not sure how that's even possible) the guy came in the next day and traded it in. He's of course got me convinced that this is the best Disco in the world, and I can't wait to drive it.

GREAT point about the Company spending 45k on a vehicle... I hope they did maintain it well. If I buy it (which I hope I do) I know it will have a great home for the remainder of its life.

The story of your wife's Cavalier reminds me of my mom. When I turned 16, I bought her Monte Carlo off of her for $2,800, and she bought a Chrysler Sebring convertible, '99. It had 25k miles when she got it, and I think it's got 190k now. The little 4 cylinder is surprising me HUGELY, especially since she NEVER does any sort of maintenance on her car.

I was once riding with her to lunch when my IT job took me to a location near hers, and I noticed the engine was ticking and sounding pretty loud. (This was at like... 85k miles). I asked her if she's checked the oil lately, and said, "no... but I need to."

"Well, how long's it been?"

"Ummmm," [she looks at the sticker on the window, then at the odometer] "25,000 miles."

She later told me that the oil-change place told her she was down to about 2.5 quarts of oil in the engine, and that she should come in more often. Again, it's run for 100k miles since then... very remarkable.

Your avatar is perfect for a DII owner, I love it.
Chicago is only 3 hours away, have you looked at www.carmax.com? There is one in Highland IL.
Family Video? Seriously? NetFlix all the way!! I havent been to the video store since 2001! They are in Lansing, I mail a movie back on Mon and the next one will be to my house by Wed.
And they have ALL the Seinfeld episodes.

i have found carfax to be pretty worthless... i bought a salvage title Honda years ago and the carfax said nothing about salvage status... it was 10 years old and there was only a few records on file.

but i bet that varies from car to car.

also; the fact that it's a company car definitely goes both ways... it probably had scheduled maintenance done, but how was it treated by those driving it? i just think of how i've treated any rental car i've ever had... wouldn't want to buy something that had lived that life.
