Remove the lower radiator hose from the radiator. It will be empty in about 2 mins.
Doing it that way will remove about 98% of the coolant.
A petcock would be nice.

Hey spike you said that removing the lower hose will get rid of 98% of the coolant. Is that 98% of the coolant in the radiator or 98% of the coolant in the entire truck. I am asking because I want to do a full coolant changeon my truck. Sorry to butt in on someone elses post.

That is 98% of what is nin the entire truck. To get it all out once drained replace the lower hose, fill with water, turn the heater on and idle for 10 mins, drain and then fill with the new coolant.
It will drain better if you also unhook the top radiator hose from the truck first.
So remove the upper hose, then the lower one.
Drain.
Replace hoses.
Refill with water idle with heater on for 10 min.
Remove top hose then lower hose. It is best to let it cool for 10 min before you do that so you dont get burned.
