Castrol only?
Planning to bleed the brakes soon. But the Rave CD (or some site) says to use Castrol brake fluid only!
I went to the local stores here, no Castrol just Prestone and other DOT4 brake fluid.
Has anyone tried other brands?

To add to spike's post... Basicallyall DOT 4 brake fluids are pretty much made to the same standards set by the manufactures, with the exception of of a few out there that make a pure synthetic brake fluid like Vavolines synthetic brake fluid as spike mentioned. So as long asyou use some form ofDOT4 you should be set, just go with a brand you trust.
Ok will get any DOT4 synthetic preferably with low moisture effect will do.
Why would LR endorse Castrol only? They seem adamant about it. Go figure.
Anyway, the experiences with other brands trumps LR's recommendation.
Thanks.

Well LR recommends it because Castrol is a British company, that is the only reason that I can think of.
Castrol 20w-50 is the motor oil used in the Queen Mary.
So any English car or truck will recommend Castrol oils and lubes.
Just like GM and Ford recommend their oils and lubes.
And if I remember right the new LR's even say to use Castrol motor oil on the oil filler cap.
