Thank you.

Wow, I thought magnaflows partner recycle program was a good enough deal to buy new cats to weld in. Checked an online recycler and they offer $900+ for the pair.. I'm gonna check around a bit more. Thanks for that note.

Hello fellow D2 owners. I live in SF where my 1999 disco has been parked on the street for 20+ years without any incident until August when the first catalytic converter heist was attempted at 4:30 PM in broad daylight on a Friday (damaged pipe, $300 repair job including welding a few bars alongside the cat to deter). Since then I've spotted two other attempts on my Ring cameras out front but early in the AM (5:30) so I suspect these guys are trying to unbolt and not make noise but since the bolts are so rusted they give up... I worry though they are spotting the car to come back with a portable hack saw. To deter a bit more we make it a habit to lower the airsprings for less clearance but I'd rather install a skid plat like the Rockware one shared at the beginning of this post. the link no longer works and I can't find the company online... anyone know what happened to Rockware and whether they still make the plate (or someone else)?

thx

Rob

Rob, see my post above - my mechanic Danny @ 007 Motorsports in San Mateo made a custom cat cover for me, it is great - he will take care of you (tell him Anil sent you). Have my D2 down there right now getting the infamous front drive shaft replaced after a 2 week trip. https://www.yelp.com/biz/007-motorsport-san-mateo

Put your car in a garage. See why we need to double the police presence. Thieves are getting to brave, they need to get scared.

I've seen video's in Houston of like a Home Depot or Verizon store parking lot & the thief just drives around cutting off Toyota Tundra cat's and NO ONE stopped him. Just sat there and filmed them, by the time the cops got there = to late, probably a stolen car or fake plates, and vs other crimes out there they just tell the victims to file on their insurance which is great if you have full coverage. Liability Only = your screwed....... At my house if I hear a sawzall at night on 3 of my D2's with original cat's they're soon going to hear the sound of a 9MM, 40 S&W, or a 45 round going off.

In the line of work I do sadly I have to go to robbery scenes more and more often now, and 100-200k in cash gone the Cops don't take finger prints or do any actual investigation. They just tell the financial institution to file on their insurance and go from there..... That's why this certain crime continues at an alarming rate so if they don't care about that Cat's being stolen is even lower on the list to be honest.
