Default Catalytic converters

what's up all? So I have a problem with my disco lol catalytic converter 1. It's failing fast and the other is gonna go soon. In wondering what the best course of action is? Should I just do a manga flow y pipe and replace all the O2 sensors or do the y pipe with full exhaust kit with it? What is roughly the coat of each.

How do you know the cats a failing fast? Nasty smell, codes, rot?

I have a full MagnaFlow exhaust on my 02.. it's nice.. good sound, doesn't do much besides sound good.

Is it worth going all the way with it? Meaning do the y pipe with cats ( bc I'm in an emission state) and exhaust? Or should I only do the y pipe

The MagnaFlow catalytic kit is the Y pipe, cats and all. Only difference is, it is 2 peices insteat of 1. For me it was worth it as my original exhaust was in pretty bad shape. All the flanges had rotted. So I figured screw it and started fresh.

Was it fairly easy to install. My buddy and I are gonna take on the project. Hopefully all goes well.

Yea it is. It's lining it all up so it doesn't touch the frame that kinda sucks. Lol

Only problem that needs to be ready for, the nuts on the studs that connect y-pipe to manifold strip easy. I recommend spraying with penetrating oil the day before. Also we loosened manifold a little when installing, made it easier to line up.

Broke every one of mine regardless of how much pent rating oil or heat I used.

Couple places sell the cat y-pipe. Atlantic British for sure, but if you search google a couple place pop up. I ended up using existing y pipe and only replacing the cays. Saved 200 bucks. But auto zone can get you the cat back kit. Make sure you get new O2 sensors as well. I got those at auto zone. It came to 279 for all 4 sensors (Bosch) I ended up going with flowmaster instead. i think they are little better than the magnaflows. Roughly the same cost.
