Default Catalytic converters

I haven't had my Disco real long (95Disco I) but started playing around with her more and learning more after reading the posts. I noticed that whoever had the vehicle before me must have removed the catalytic converters and not replaced them. What will this do to the vehicle. I understand the things are mandated and all but I am more concerned about the pros and/or cons for the vehicle.

Well without the cats you cannot run oxygen sensors and therefore you will get lower MPG.
How much lower? I do not know.
Other than that and emissions I see no real downside.
But somebody who knows more than me will chime in.

Cat's are only about 5% efficient anyway and honestly don't do much.

People steal them b/c they are filled with Platinum and Valadium, which is why they are so expensive.

I can't imagine it having that much of an effect. In 1995 I'm fairly certain that the US Disco's were some of few that even had them.

If you have to pass an emissions test, you may be required to put them back on. You shouldn't have to buy Land Rover brand, but it'll still cost a pretty chunk of change.

1995 was the last year that only 02 sensors before the cat's and none
after the cat's so if your state Insp will let you drive like it is
Go for it and dont worry until you have to put the cat's on for a state Insp
or something.

Targot,
If you have to have the truck inspected for a state license, they will not pass the truck untill you replace the cats.

Why do you think it will stall? I understand it may use more gas without them, but if an o2 sensor fails on a disco it doesn't make the truck stall.
