Catastrophic Engine Damage, Carnage you have been waiting for
As some of you know, I was having a misfire in the #5 and #7 cylinder. Wasn't spark plugs, wires, coilpacks, or the injectors.
So this afternoon I decided to take the head off on the drivers side, really wasn't that bad, esp since I didn't have to do anything with timing like you would with a 4-cylinder. Ill let the pictures speak for themselves. This car ran awesome besides the misfire by the way, didn't really feel like it had a loss of power or anything. If you don't see it, the piston head is shattered on the edges on both cylinders that were having the misfire:
Which I guess explains these pieces I found in the plenium awhile back:
My questions
1) Does it appear that I have dropped a sleeve? I wasn't leaking coolant, which leads me to believe that I didn't drop one, but Im not sure. There was no coolant in the oil prior to taking the head off?
2) Where is the cheapest place to buy new pistons assuming the sleeve isn't dropped?
