Default CB antenna tire mount

Hello, I keep seeing that a good place is the tire rack. I have the http://www.firestik.com/Catalog/SS-174.htm SS174 mount...but where on the tire bracket does this go? Do I need to remove the tire so the antenna sticks up behind the tire?

You will need to remove the spare to install that mount, good choice by the way, but once installed you can run a fire stick or similiar antenna. You might consider using a quick disconnect so you can remove the antenna when not needed.

Will I have to drill new holes?

That will be up to you, but for a clean installation you will need to run a line thru the outer door panel, then past the hinges and thru the truck to where ever you are planning to locate your radio.

I ran it to the hood mount. Looks cool that way to me...ran the cable into a grommet just above where the cruise vacuum comes in.
