Sell your cb, buy a Cobra 75WXST, mount anywhere, done. I did exactly this.
Also, it is not hard to run a cable thru the washer mount on the rear door, snake thru the wire bundle to pass side of truck, cable under carpet to where ever you need. I took the time to remove my rear seats to allow easy access to wherever I needed. Mount antenna to tire carrier on a quick release. Barely an afternoon job.

Not going to get into a pissing match...but really.....Come on you smash yours in the jam,tucked it in some trim molding..... I drilled and tapped mine to the tire mount for good ground,drilled door, rubber gromet thru door,snaked thru the boot,(not going to D**Kup the carpet to snake thru...Mine is thru a louver,shows all of about 2"....I dont make smartA** comments on fourms....but come on (IF YOU SAY SO....)really....
