just running a bit hot,203 on the hwy and up 220 at idle (but not too long, then back to about 208-212) got a 180 t-stat on its way, bottom rad hose is cold, and i got a 20 degree temp diff from top to bottom of rad no cold spot in the middle, i am thinking a new rad, I have had the system flushed and no change, and i think my fan clutch is shot, it maybe turns a 10th of a rotation when the engine is up to temp. maybe a rad flow test? but i dont know how to do that my self,

Make sure you do a new coolant cap as well.
If you buy a new radiator, as I had to recently, do not buy the cheapest one you can find cause not all radiators are made by the same quality and material. I got mine from BPoU for around $280 and it is stamped/tagged as made in Scotland , not in China or by one of the cheap U.S. knock-offs.

I thought the Cable shifter would be easier to install. When I put in the mechanical shifter it really wasn't that hard. Got the right stuff from P Grant. But with the cable shifter no cutting requires for the shifter handle. Plus I have heard the cable is quieter since it's not bolted to the tranny. But it's much more expensive. Either way it was worth having it a few times

I installed a D1 linkage in my previous 2000 Disco and didn't notice any added noise. I have two complete D1 linkages for sale. Includes all the bits needed to install, minus the transfer case needed for your 02 of course. May cost a bit more to send to Canada, but let me know if you are interested once you find a transfer case. The link previously posted was to my ad on Expo, but they are posted here now too.
