Question CDL Install

I currently have a 2003 Disco II with no CDL capability and am interested in getting the CDL installed.
I have been researching this topic and found amazing information on how to install the front hub of the transfer case along with the necessary linkages. However, during my research I did come across some information that is making me reconsider. I was told that by changing the front hub alone I could be overlooking the bearing/s reliability. Is this a true concern? Is it better to replace the entire transfer case with one from 1999 or 2000? Which route is the safest?
Thanks.

The housing has tapered roller bearings in it bathed in gear oil on the bottom of the transfer case. I wouldnt worry about it. Chance in hell it'd be an issue. Get the cheapest CDL you can get. Local junk yard is where I got mine with the linkage, shifter **** and all. $64

Oh yeah. I dont know where you live but theres a 98 model with the CDL, ****, linkage everything in the local junkyard here in Atlanta. Could get it for around $60ish bucks from the yard. You have to pull it yourself. So come get it or I'll get it for you and ship it to you. Gonna cost $120 on top tho. (Pulling those out on gravel ground sucks) That's cdl housing, cdl gears, linkage, shift ****, etc. Assuming no one else has gotten it yet. I just looked at it last week when it came in on the yard. (I signed up for emails for new disco arrivals lol)

While I'm on it... if anyone needs a new short block or long block they also have a 4.0 engine for like $125. No idea if it runs. Their price list if based on if it's a V6, V8, L4 etc... running or not. Really good deals at this place.
