When I was 15 my first car was a red Rover TC2000. I drove it until I couldn't get the parts I needed to keep it running and sold it to a gentleman who wanted it on the off chance that the starter would work on his Series II. I loved that car and always wanted another one. You are right - far from sane. Interesting coincidence - my sister's first car was a 1961 Buick LeSabre with the aluminum V8 that Rover purchased from GM in 1964 and used in their vehicles - the same one that is in our Discovery.

I'm going to talk to my driveline shop next week and weigh the cost of unit replacement vs the part. If I had the luxury of time I'd do it myself but I travel for work during the week and really need the truck on the road on the weekend, not on jackstands in the carport. Going to ask them about the lockers and 4:11 gear change too to see if they'll cut me a break on the combined labor.

Becareful when you get any quotes, get back to us with them, have them broken down as per parts/labor so we can make sure you don't get screwed.
