Default Center console trim

So my 04 has the wood trim plate in the center console which is cracked and just generally fake and tacky looking. Ive seen black trim in this area in Google pics but when I search for replacement pieces all I find is the two piece rubber mats. Are the rubber mats a direct replacement for the wood trim, or do they go over the top? I was assuming there was just a single piece of black trim that is identical in shape to the wood piece.

If its just the black mat that covers base of the center console, I have one you can have. Almost threw it away last weekend.

You'd likely need to remove the wood trim and replace it with the black rubber mat.

If you have the wood it's likely that yours is what's called a skateboard.

the panel is contoured up into the switch plate.

Your t case case shifter boot plastic base has extended tabs to accomodate the thickness of the skateboard.

If you remove, you need the rubber mat, new shifter boot plastic trim, and switch panel.

Is the switch pannel an entirely new unit that the switches mount in or is it a cover like the rubber mat?

There are 2 switch panels.

1- a structural panel that the switches click into which you do not see(yours has it)

2- an exterior fascia panel which you need. It's hard plastic, not rubber.

Ok awesome. Thanks for the info guys.

BTW, I just found this and kindof like it. Pretty steap for a trim piece but it looks pretty slick. I'm gonna see if they'll throw in their shifter and ebrake boots if I buy the pannel.

I bought that a year ago. Haven't installed it yet due to broken tabs on the center console and wanting to install a cdl shifter. However, the aluminum panel is nice and clean, if simple.

KingKoopa - found the rubber console mat this weekend and I have your address - I'll send it out USPS tomorrow.

Also, installed this over the weekend. Bit of a pain, but after all is said and done, I'd do it again. I got the transfer case and hand brake covers from them a couple of years ago - holding up great.
