Yoko Geo's are available as either AT or MT patterns, I've got a copy of the MT (Insa Turbo 'Sahara' remoulds) on my '93 Defender and they're definitely not a 'street' tyre...
Never tried the AT version - but I'm betting your tyres look something like this:
I'd reckon you'd get away with decent MT's in deep snow... AT's are just going to fill up with snow like a street tyre and behave like a slick
