RE: centering ball kit
I'm not surprised that you didn't get an answer at your local store. I asked for something simple at car quest and they thought that land rover was made by toyota. Try searching this site for more information. I know the u-joint part numbers have been posted and I'm sure the center ball kit number is on here also. Armed with that information get on the phone to the local auto parts and see who can get you the parts. They should be able to cross reference the number if they don't have the number you give them.

I actually worked at an auto parts store for a while. I was the only one at that particular store that had any experience working on vehicles. As dumb as most f the people behind the counter can be there are customers that make them look like a genius. I always loved it when a guy would send his wife in for parts with only the vaguest description of what she needs. Half the time they are guessing at what kind of vehicle it's for.
Since I'm off on stuff completely unrelated to the question, I'll share a funny story. I had a 78 Toyota Land Cruiser that was having alternator problems. actually the voltage regulator died and caused the battery to boil over. Talked to a mechanic buddy who suggested switching to a GM one wire alternator. It was a direct fit replacement for the original and higher output. Walked up to the counter at the local NAPA store and asked for a GM one wire alternator. The response I got was a blank stare from the guy behind the counter. After about 15 seconds he finally snapped out of it and started asking the important questions to find what I needed, but I thought that blank stare was priceless. My buddy and I busted up laughing as soon as we walked out the door.
