Default To change auxiliary belt...

Rave manual says to remove the viscous fan prior to changing the belt. Is there anyway around not removing the fan? If I have to remove the fan, which wrenches? The manual shows tools LRT-12-093and tool LRT-12-094. Not sure what these are.
Thanks. Gotta do this to get to the alternator change.

Got to parts store they will loan you viscous fan wrenches I borrowed some from Advance auto but others will have them also. I think it's 1 1/4.
Google removing the fan. Put the wrench on the fan and smack it sharply with a mallet or dead-blow hammer. it will come off by spinning it off the threads. Be careful around the radiator.

I believe you can replace the belt without pulling the fan. You just need to get it off of all the other pulleys to do so.

X2

There's no need to pull the fan.

Even better.. I take it I just work behind the fan. Once the belt is removed it looks like I will have access to the alternator. I will be replacing both the alternator and aux belt. Any other parts to include in this?

x3...yep it'll come off without removing fan. remove from pulleys then work it over the fan in a rotating motion.
as long as all other tensioner and pulleys and brackets are good...you are good to go
edit = under not over

I just did this yesterday. The tensioner goes up, belt comes off.. remove the belt from all of the pulleys and you should be able to snake it through right under the fan.

This may be a bigger problem for some more than others but....

It's easy to forget the route of the belt when you get the old one off. I always draw the pulleys and belt route under the hood somewhere on an easy to see place with a sharpie, before I remove the old belt. Comes in handy if you ever have one burn off or break on its own.
