Loosening Auxiliary Belt

As part of the head gaskets I am trying to loosen my auxiliary belt on my 2002 Disco 2. First question is do I need to remove the viscous fan? Second is which way do I turn the tensioner pulley to loosen the belt?

Never mind got it with crescent wrench (did not have a 15 mm wrench)
