Chasing Problems after A wet adventure
So I have a 2000 Disco
170K miles
Has ace
converted from air to coil
Newer optima battery and alternator reads just under 14V
So I had a little fun in the rain and mud tonight and now Im getting all kinds of weird issues.
1. Ace error light comes on after driving for 1-2 minutes (goes off after system check upon start up)
2. Reverse lights are Illuminated slightly even when car is not in reverse
3. SLABS computer is illuminating the hill decent light and Giving a fault that says something to the effect of "improbable Gear selection"
I have tried disconnecting battery for a while and nothing.
I have also checked out all the Computers (Slabs, ecu, bcd, trans) There is not a drop of water anywhere. They are so dry that there is a layer of thick dust just building up them.
If anyone can shed some light on whats going on i would really appreciate it

Inexperienced in this specific problem;I would give it a while to dry everything out before I worried about it. I have had weird codes not go away until three weeks after getting in water. If they were not there before the water, there will probably be false errors until everything completely dries out.
Check your fuse box under the hood and make sure you didn't get and water in the box and it's just sitting there. Use an air hose to blow off all the connections really well. Open up the SLS control box under the drivers side of the truck and disconnect all the electrical connectors and blow them out with air also. Repeat this process anywhere it looks like connections got caked in mud or water.
As a guy who frequently got his rover WET (I once drove it across the Nisqually River in WA without a snorkel kit and got it stuck chest deep - as measured in the drivers seat! - in a swamp) I can tell you that you get all kinda of dumb poop from the electronics! Take every single wire/connection/fitting/etc you can find in your truck and blow it dry with an air hose and then apply dielectric grease to each and every single inch of the afformentioned wires/connections/fittings that you can find. When you think you have gotten them all throughly its time for you to start over and do it all again. on about your third try you will have gotten all the danger areas... not much fun but it is what needs done. Also I recommend LOTS of heat-based shrink wrap for electrical connectors BEFORE getting wet.
