Default Cheap Bush Bar - thoughts?

Thinking of grabbing this bush bar for $150 (cnd). I think it's better than having nothing at the front. And gives me some light mounts.

Thoughts?

I love the bush bar on the rovers. One of the reasons I bought the one I did was because it had that and a roof rack with lights. In terms of practicality I dont really see a difference, your paint is most likely going to get scratched either way if you go too insane in the woods. But I do think it looks nice haha

Rover never made a brush bar that gave you any protection, they are just for looks only.

I'll admit it was mostly by chance, but the bar on my old jeep took the brunt of a hell of a lot of damage over the years.
Still think it's okay as a light bar if nothing else. Also made it easier to know where the front corners were, but I doubt the same applies here.

That was an S-10 down the front right and a Tracker on the left. Both would have fouled up the lights (more) had it not been there.

Likely true for most scenarios... but mine took the brunt of a hitting a small bear. If not for the bar, I'm sure it would have at the very least taken out my bumper and likely the new radiator. Also, took the brunt of quite a few "parking by feel" idiots in NYC and Philly!

Are there any real world experiences with this? I keep hearing this and dont understand why. My experience with mine was completly different. I hit everything with mine while off roading, and the only reason I ever took it off was because I was hit in a driveway by a 15 mile an hour reversing car and dented the **** out of it.

I hit a fence once in my dads d2 when I was young, and the factory brush guard stopped any damage to the vehicle. Lucky for me, haha.
Had to touch up the paint on the brush guard though.

I think they are good for low speed impacts, shopping carts...etc

But I can imagine it could make things worse in certain higher speed impacts
