Methinks I see one of those in the near future for my Disco! Where'd you get it?

I know a guy that I'm going to email this pic too to see what kind of price he can get me. Maybe it could be engineered to hold 2 Jerry cans...

With enough time and money it can be made to hold as many cans as you want. Question is can the door handle the weight of 2 full jerry cans?

I was thinking that would be about the same weight as the tire that's on there now, but I suppose 2 full cans would be heavier than the spare. It should be fine when closed though, right? The only real problem with the weight is when the door's open. It'd be a lot easier to take off the jerry cans before opening the door than it is to drop that damn spare tire! LOL

Plus, they wouldn't be full all the time. More often than not they'd be empty or partially empty. As long as the bracket has a locking mechanism that goes across the top of the cans you wouldn't have to worry about them getting stolen, and it appears that the one on Salve's truck has just such a mechanism! If it doesn't, it should be an easy addition for a good fabricator.

Like I said I didn't make it but it doesn't look to tough. You could make it however big you wanted (sometimes I think it looks a little small back there but it def helps with visability) but it is pretty heavy as is. If you all are interested, I can get some more pics, I think I have the original pics that show it off the truck and sans jerry can. BTW: it does lock with a bar that comes across the top and the antenna "holes" are right above the bolts, behind and to the side of where the can goes.

I guess you could have it made from aluminum, but that would certainly increase the cost. I emailed the pic of it on your truck to Nate at Bottorf Fabrication to get his thoughts on it. When he replies I'll send him this latest one too.

Thanks!

Talk to Matt at High Country Off Road also. He may be willing to make one up for you. I spent 45 minutes on the phone with him last night talking about the light bar I want for above my windshield. He said he's always looking for ideas for products they can offer to their customers.

Matt quoted about $100 to have the light bar built and I picked up 2 pair of Hella 500FF driving lights off ebay for $50 a pair. So there's another $200 modifictaion. Eventually I will upgrade the lights to something better but the Hellas will get me started.

Making it out of alluminum would be fairly easy. If you do not have a welder for it then you can always use rivets. The thing with aluminum is never buy it at Home Depot or one of those stores, always go to a metal supplier, it should be half the cost at twice the length.

If you really wanted more you could build a new bumper with a swing out. That way you could keep the tire back there and add in 2 Jerry cans of you wanted.

just took the soggy carpet out of my rover last night. any suggestions for getting the last pieces out from under the seats? w/o removing the seats that is...

just taped and sprayed the first coat of rhinolining on the hood. i know it is supossed to be flat black but my hood was REALLY scratched up and i figured rhino-lining would be more durable. i send pics when its done.
