I went to the dealer and they no longer cut keys at all - only order from Land Rover. So I figured I'd give this new Key Me company a try. You can find kiosks near you on the website. My nearest was at Bed Bath & Beyond store.
In a nutshell, I inserted my well worn key, the machine scanned it, and in about three days this showed up in the mail. With the 25% off discount code offered online it cost me $23.83. The machine also offered to create a second key for me for just $20. However, it also has the key pattern stored according to my fingerprint, which is kind of cool in the event I lose both keys.
Obviously there is no remote/fob option. But for a simple spare key this works well. Verified the key functions perfectly in my ignition and doors. Thought this might be helpful to others. Jeff

You could go to many hardware stores and get them to cut an ILCO RV4 or RV4-P for maybe a quarter that price. If they don't have those key blanks in stock they can order them or they're easily available online.
