Default Check Engine Light on

Need help troubleshooting... Plz plz I have 98 Discovery 98,000 miles.. Light went on this week. Recently had the fuel pump and filter changed.. Just came back from getting a diagnostic test with no answer... something about the pump.. The code given was P1179.. Any clues!!! Thank you

1179 is not a fuel pump. There was someone elso with the same code recently, it relates to a lean run. If you don't get an answer, try DiscoWeb or the LRR forum, they should be able to help you.

Thank you... I have been going thru all of the forums and sites and this is what came up..1998 LAND ROVER DISCOVERY 4.0L 3950cc V8 MFI (2)
Oxygen Sensor- I will now begin to search for "lean run"???
Now I am looking everywhere to find out if it is safe to drive like this or park it until a get an appointment...Would you happen to know? Sorry for all the questions.

It is safe to run, this probably means that your Oxygen Sensor is going bad, I don't know which one though

I agree, that is what the other guy came up with, bad O2 sensor. You will be fine driving on it for awhiles, won't have the performance you may be used to.
When you go to replace them, plan on replacing all of them. Check with Nathon at Discount Rovers for the best prices.

ok.. here I go again.. Is someone other than the dealer able to do it? I tried looking up Nathon but was unable to find.. Do you have a link?
