Yes, I will come up with another video where I incorporate photos of the adapter and how to make it or have it made, along with the other hook-ups

Wow, a lot of thought and effort here. And I am a Chevy guy at heart (my first car was a '68 Camaro) but... I'm thinking that spending money on properly fixing a Rover block (RPI/coscast if available) with Darton top hat liners, ARP studs and the redesigned head gaskets is the better solution.

It is great to see that you made up your mind to do it your way and then actually did it. Top work.

Dude, that is bitchen. Sounds so much nicer than a stock 4.0 too. You can install most anything in another car as long as it fit's. Your right, the dude that said it couldn't be done is a moron.


When I was 17, my engine blew in my Triumph TR7, which has a 4 cylinder engine in it. Well, even at that young age, I was able to bolt up a Ford 302 and a mustang 4 speed tranny to it. The thing was so fast, it almost killed me. Decided after a couple years of owning it and wanting to someday have a family and kids, I sold it.


Keep on it as the rest is a cake walk, you've already completed the hard parts.

WoW, very impressive. I think that is great swap. I have a 1958 jeep ******* with a engine that came out of a corvette from the 70's. you should see the wheels spin on that thing.... FYI it was chopped when when got it, no chance for complete restore.

Default Just about done

Pretty much done now and runs great. Changed my mind on several issues like using the Chevys power steering pump and tying it in to the Rovers lines. Also eliminated the Rovers traction control pump which I originally planned to incorporate into the project.

Used the Rovers radiator and coolant tank and the Rovers electric fan goes on to keep the engine within temperature limits. I will also add an additional electric radiator if temps go above center, but time will tell.

Still a few things to do including running the A/C lines and air intake system I used the Rovers mass air flow senor combined with the Chevy and am waiting for a part which will be in shortly, but its driveable the way it is.

One area of concern is the fuel return system; The Land Rover has 1 fuel line coming from the tank to the fuel injector rail, and the Chevy has a return line which takes extra fuel and returns it to the tank. I have the return line blocked off which puts extra strain on the fuel pump. However the Rovers fuel pump may just be strong enough to accommodate the pressure.

I will just drive it and I’m sure little problems will arise, but not expecting anything major. I only will use it on occasion anyway and will report to the forum of any concerns.

Very nice, now with plumbing connected , it looks as it came with truck as original engine,
You did a very nice& clean job,
How did you connect Trans to engine?
How different does the driving feel compared to original engine?
Keep up the good work, I know how much work went into project so far, at same time , the instal, looks very pro,
