Default Chick in need of advice... Disco I 4.0SE

Hello,

I bought my first Disco I 4.0 SE a little less than a year ago. It's a 97 with 96K miles on it. I think it is overdue for a tune up and just yesterday the engine started a very suttle skip in the idle. With that being said I am planning on having a local shop perform the work however, I am not sure what needs to be done in a 90k mile service. Knowing this could someone possibly provide a basic 1-10 list of things to expect?? I would greatly appreciate any solid advice. This will hopefully keep me from getting burned or ripped off.

I assume plug, wires, distributor cap, and maybe flushing all the fluids should be a good start but what else may possibly be worn out and/or in need of replacement?

THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP!!!

Raine

Hello Raine,
You are on the right track. the only other thing is a rotor (it is in the distributor), and the local shop would likely have replaced anyway. Flushing fluids is something I would,nt personly do. If you want to splurge have your transmisson oil changed to synthetic, and for sure change the engine oil. I think it is cool a CHICK driving a Land Rover. What will they think of next?
Cheers Dennis.
