Default Cigar lighter is loose in my center console--how to fix?

Hey guys, my center console cigar lighter is no longer secured. It's still got power to it, and I use it daily for my V1 detector,....but the entire lighter assembly is loose and free to be pulled completely out of the console. Thinking it's probably just a failed plastic retainer clip and wondering if I have to remove the console, and replace the entire lighter assembly to fix this.

The lighter is held in by the green surround. It has a little tab on it. If that is broken then you will need a new lighter assembly. It could just be it is not pushed in. But regardless you need to pull the console to get to it. Not that difficult to do.

$24 on ebay for a used one.

if your replacing the lighter you may want to replace it with universal light, the euro lighter socket don't always work well with US adapters.

replace it with this... Dual USB Charger Socket - Blue Sea Systems

It supposed to fit right into the hole from the lighter.

Here is the Britparts version (looks like it's a re-branded Blue Sea)

That's cool! However if you need to plug in a GPS or similar that only comes with the lighter plugin...then your screwed. I put this in my console ashtray to allow for more outlets.

Just seen this on ebay. Looks very close to what is in there now except blue in color.
