Circular plate on bottom of transmission?
Hi guys, I noticed that the three bolts that hold that circular plate on the bottom of the trans seem to always be weeping fluid. I can't seem to find info on that plate in the RAVE manual. Any ideas on what that is called or what to do to stop the leak? Thanks in advance for any info.
That makes sense, It is dark like engine oil. I know a few of the oil pan bolts are seeping as well. I did the oil pan gasket in the spring and just noticed that a few bolts look wet. Maybe I'll go through and check the torque on those again. I'll have to inspect the front seal for any leaks.

That's probably it, oil blowing back there. I had an oil leak so bad once it was blowing all the way to my back bumper. Turned out to be the plug on the bottom of the front cover had worked loose where an oil cooler line would go. Since oil was getting everywhere it was had to find exactly where it was coming from. If you don't have an oil cooler check those blanking plugs, one on the side of front cover and one underneath of front cover. They get loose and if one came out it would be game over.

Its a D2 they all leak - I have never found a way to keep it 100% dry. The oil pan bolts will get a drop or two then this blows all over everything else. Maybe this is inherit of Southeastern hot humid climates. But we have tried almost everything and nothing short of welding everything shut works. I think the gaskets or design is not that great. Even after redoing with RTV and it still seeps here and there. Maybe Aviation Sealant is the answer
Most every southern owner will tell you if it is not seeping then you need to worry - it is out of oil
