Default Classic Symptoms of a Bad Relay..Learned from Car Talk

So here is the deal. I have recently noticed my Front Fog lights will not work intermittently.
I have done a lot of listening to Car Talk for the last 10 years. Basically a bad relay will not make a good connection when warmed up. These are my exact symptoms. Like Click and clack always tell Honda owners to replace their fuel pump relay under the dash. Car wont start on hot days.

Cold startup Fog lights work 9 out 10 times. Once car has warmed up or been driven they do not work sometimes. Also heated seat switches do not light up nor work. They do not look like they run through that Link & on the RAVE diagram but I will check closer.

I have done some searching and it shows the fuse is under hood fuse box 15Amp #3. Relay is R130 from the RAV Pg 43Exterior Lamps section.

So where might I find that Relay. I know Autozone and Advanced are about worthless for that. I was just going to buy a used fuse box on eBay. I wonder if Orielly's or Carquest might have it since there parts selection goes a little deeper. Any thoughts?

I just picked up the entire under hood fuse box to carry as a spare for $35 on Ebay. I may have to check into getting one for under the dash as well.

Relay 101 (auxillary circuits) controls power to both the heated seat system and the relay 130, whose contacts light the fogs. Relay 101 is controlled by ignition swicth and fuse 26 inside the cab, and link 8 under the hood. Perhaps there a salvage yard where you can stroll and remove relays - one of the cleanest jobs in the junk yard.

looks that way to me, here's pages from "Fuse Details" in electrical library (not even the same directory with the drawings, just to make it fun).

BTW, Santa left in my stocking a brand new swanky Car Talk baseball cap from the shameless commerce division.

My money is on AUX R7 relay. All research data seems to point there. I'll see if I can find one locally and order a full fuse box on eBay for $40 free shipping. I'll keep that in the rear Cargo bin. And if I'm on a trip I'll have good spares, (hopefully)

My GF got me a CarTalk T-shirt that has the show ending credits. Dewy Cheatem & How. Doug, The Bongo Boy Berman the Subway fugitive. And so on. Its cool. I wear it when I work on my Rover for good luck. The full list of credits

Default Lets hear is for Napa

Got the Relay from Napa Today. Everything works again and even cooler its a genuine Tyco/BMW stamped relay as the factory one. I will link it here a little later.

So if your symptoms are as follows.
THESE AUX ITEMS DO NOT WORK:
  • Heated seats do not work, nor do the switches light up.
  • Front Fog lights don't work, nor do the switches light up.
  • windshield wipers don't work including rear.
  • Radio does not auto turn off when the ignition is turned off. But still works
  • All this is linked to A7 AUX relay under the hood fuse box(Black)
Napa Part Number: ECH AR6281
BMW part number 61366901469

$13.49 at Napa genuine Tyco/BMW relay and your back in business. Available next day usually. Not available at Carquest, special order at Orielly's.

$14.95 Atlantic british plus shipping.
Genuine Part # YWB101300G

Called the dealer $36 special order takes 5/7 days. Another reason they are worthless. Thats right Tom Wood Land Rover you suck!
