Default Cleaning under the hood?

alright so....after

1) being in the dirt for almost 5 days straight
2) seeing pics of other d2's that seem almost sparkly under the hood

how do you go about cleaning the engine and all the othe goodies under the hood?

have read that you can just powerwash everything and drive off good to go, others say you need to make sure to avoid alt, plugs, wires, etc....

just trying to get a confirmation of what to do, 2000 D2, would hate to cause any shorts or other damage....

For a DII, you can powerwash everything under the engine just fine. Just don't get too close to anything or you'll knock something lose. That's one good thing about DII engines is they take water very well. I powerwash mine all the time.

X2...the DII's only bragging rights compared to the DI! Cover up your fuse box with some plastic, and like Cam said, be careful not to blow things apart. If you have a little grease sticking around, try some Simple Green.
