I just bought a 2000 Disco II, white. On the hood and left front fender there are 5 to 6 small circles where the clear coat has peeled off. My question is how much would it cost to fix this problem? Also do I have to get the whole hood done or can I patch it? Thanks for any advice.

 

there has to be a clean line for the clear to break. You will have to get the whole piece painted for it to look right.

 

A guy I used to work with had both his car and his wifes mini van clear coated every spring, $300 for both cars. Better than a wax job and his 15 yr old Chevy Lumina looked brand spanking new and we live in a snow belt where they use lots of salt on the roads to melt the ice.

 

pull your hood off and do it yourself... if you just try to reclear a section of it you will never get the new clear to blend into the old clear... if you dont think you can do it your self, take it to a local shop and have them do it... just for a hood and fender should not be very much if you remove them yourself... or u could just let the shop do it... im guessin 150- 300 depending on the shop... while your hood is gettin sprayed u should have them do a hood blackout for you... its a pretty popular think to do and looks pretty good on all rovers... but make sure it is flat black not a high gloss black... high gloss black would defeat the purpose...
