Any suggestions on DIY repairing the clear coat on the hood? Best I can tell it is just the clear coat that's faded not the paint

 

I looked at doing this but then I got a golf ball dent in my hood so I ended up getting it fully painted.

 

I used this on the white roof of the 2002 and it worked well. If you care about the finish, obviously pro is the way to go, I was more interested in overall protection for the color coat, and it's on the roof, so it doesn't have to be perfect or anything. I did it while I had the sunroofs out.
