Click noise
Hi girouardrover,
I was hearing the same sound from my DII which has 75k miles on it.
Initially thought it was the front drive shaft, so removed it to get rebuilt.
Much to my surprise, the noise increased or seemed louder and more prevalent in 2WD (locked my transfer case)!
My next step was to change the fluid in the transfer case as this is the only fluid I have yet to change.
Used Royal Purple 75-90w, still no change in sound.
Could this be "normal" transfer case lash or play as some have stated "if so, its normal, its all gear driven"?
Never owned a vehicle that would make such a noise, especially one of this caliber?
Anyway, would anyone else agree that this sound is normal on a LR?
Thanks,
Nick

Thanks Spike555,
Makes me feel better that my transfer case isnt about to crumble to pieces!
Considered the heavier weight, just conserned about the cold temps here in the winter months.
Thanks again

No need to worry about thicker gear lube in the cold, the gears will sling it around, and it sticks better to everything. My T-case is quiet in the winter and noisy in the summer.
