I have a 2003 Disco that is the wife's daily driver. About 2 weeks ago, I noticed the climate control blowing on high all the time. after a function check, here are the results;

1. Fan is on high all the time while in auto, regardless of what the climate control is "trying" to do.
2. If I manually adjust fan speed, it stays on high, but shows the selected speed on the display.
3. Temperature blowing from the passenger side is approx 5 degfrees warmer than drivers side.

Is this a trashed climate control unit?

When you turn it off what happens? Nothing, it just shuts off? How about ECNO mode, then what?

 

You may have burned out the resistor pack that helps change the blower motor fan speeds.

 

I like the idea of the resistors. Isd it a step up/down set up? Have a wiring diagram handy?!

If you turn it off, is turns off like normal, and in econ mode, it just shuts off the AC compressor like it should
