Default Clunk under car when comming off gas quickly

Every once in awhile if I come off the gas quickly, there is a clunk under the car. Its a similiar noise to when my torque arm bracket broke in my Trans Am, but I don't see any obvious broken or disconnected suspension parts under the disco. Doesnt happen accelerating hard (not that I even can haha) or when breaking hard, only when say mid throttle or higher, and you pull off the gas entirely. Doesnt sound/feel like anything with the tranny either... but can't rule that out, only that it doesnt "feel" like thats the component clunking. Its a suttle but solid thunk noise, doesnt happen often, i just kept forgetting to ask about it. I rarely hear it the way i drive anywho, just curious as to if its normal or what it might be?

Just a visual on the roto... ujoints are good, first thing i did when I bought the disco i do remember actually hearing the clunk with the old shaft and even when it wasnt even connected (drove it lightly for a day in 2wd without a front shaft). that was over a year ago so you can see how much this concerns me heh

Is there a process for checking the roto, or just look for shreaded rubber lol

How do you check driveline slack, and how is it adjusted for?

its easy to pop that rotoflex out. should take 15 minutes. take it out and see how badly cracked it is. mine was so bad it was causing a horrible vibration above 55mph.

the one that was on my truck and 2 crappy replacement ones i got for free.

grab the driveshaft and twist it see how much it twists before it stops. it could be driveline slack.

I've been meaning to replace the roto anyway, guess I'll pick one up anywho.

I'll give it a twist... how many degrees of rotation would be "normal range"?

anything more than 45 degrees and there is something wrong in the transfer case. intermediate gear or output gear might have some sheared teeth. when was the last time you checked the TC and transmission fluids for shavings or chunks?
