Question Code Help...

I have a 01 Disco 2. Service light has been intermittently turning on, more consistently stayin on recently. I took advantage of local auto parts store offer to get codes. Unfortunately, their list of explanations do not include land rover, but other manufacturer codes seem to all be consistent. I am thinking it is the 02 sensors, (82K miles) that I have not replaced yet. I would appreciate any help. The codes are:

p1172, p1175, p0171, p0174, p0734, and p1168.

You, sir, need a good old fashioned tune up.
New plugs and wires.
Is this something that you will do yourself or have it done?

I replaced the plugs at 65K. I didnt replace the wires though. What I found on the codes is that it is running lean, and it is running rich. I was planning to do it myself. What all do you think I should do? Thanks for the help!

Replace the plugs and wires.
90% of all O2 codes are due to the need of a tune up.
You MUST use Magnecor plug wires, if you dont you will be doing the job again in a month.
Yes you also need to replace the plugs as yours will be fouled from weak spark.

Per RAVE:

P1172: System too lean (bank1) Additive injector adaptive fuelling - lean limit exceeded
LH bank

P1175: System too lean (bank 2) Additive injector adaptive fuelling - lean limit exceeded
RH bank

P0171: System too rich (bank 1) Multiplication injector adaptive fuelling - rich limit
exceeded LH bank

P0174: System too rich (bank 2) Multiplication injector adaptive fuelling - rich limit
exceeded RH bank

P0734: Ratio monitoring, implausible 4th gear ratio (No apparent effect)

I could not find P1168 on RAVE...

Somebody else may be able to tell you how to fix the cause of these codes...

Thanks Disco Fuego. Spike or anyone else, those codes still sound like ignition wires and plugs?

Yes, plugs and wires.
Anytime you have a too rich code you either have a clogged air filter or you need plugs and wires.
I am assuming that you have already checked your air filter.

No, I am going with a MAF, you have 4 rich codes and a goofy 4th gear, which to me says MAF.

Default Can someone explain multiplication and additive injector...?

Wondering if someone can explain the the multiplication and additive injector part of these code descriptions. Rich and lean are self explanatory. Just trying to understand the verbage itself not the link to MAF, etc. Thank you.
