Default Code P0130 - o2 voltage dropping to zero, rotten egg smell.

Hi everyone, hoping I can get some guidance on this issue before I dig into it. This is a 2003 Discovery 2 se 4.6l.

I have a CEL with code 0130 on the ultra gauge. I have replaced the b1s1 o2 sensor and I am still getting the same code. The sensor seems to be going through its normal cycle, starting at 1.000 but drops continuously until it reaches 0.000. I have not swapped sensors from side to side, but based on the o2 sensor cycling correctly I don’t believe the new sensor is bad.

Symptoms:

*Rotten egg smell during cold start.
*Bank 1 cat is getting significantly hotter than bank 2 (350f vs 270f when checked).
*Very very slight rough idle.

Replaced the head gaskets roughly 6 months ago. Truck has run great ever since. Could the upper or lower intake bolts have lost torque causing a vacuum leak? Possibly bad injector o rings? Could this be a bad fuel purge valve?

I’m thinking the cause may be a physically damaged injector dumping fuel due to the smell and cat temps.

I would love some guidance from anyone who may be able to help.

Thank you!

Yes, intake bolts could be loose, I recommend checking them. They will do exactly what you are seeing.
