Ah, well opening the valve without pressure in the system is inviting air into the system. Better to just bleed your brakes after changing your rotors/pads.

yeah, you bleed them anyway, why not make sure the crap goes out first? Just a matter of opinion...

As heavy as these trucks are, as finiky as the brake system is,and as cheap as brake fluid is - I change out the fluid when changing pads.
