Code P0455 How do I tackle it?
I have both valves coming and I found a vacuum leak in the hose from the canister to the cvs valve. It is a ⅝ diameter plastic pipe. I am wondering if ⅝ fuel line could handle the vacuum with out collapsing?
The purge valve is controlled by a PWM signal of up to 30Hz. A static test with just opening and closing the valve can't tell if it's functioning properly. I had no success with a Hyundai valve, then got an Bosch and it worked right away. Paid $29 on ebay with free shipping. "Made in Czech Rep", no China outsourced manufacturing.
The local auto parts tried to pull one they substituted my Bosch number with their house brand. Got it home and it would not hold a vacuum about 5 inches its going back. I figured out that 5/8 plastic pipe between the CVS and the canister has at least two mechanical joints and probably more any of them could leak. Ace hardware has screen door springs. I can stretch out a couple of them and fit them inside the ⅝ fuel line. That will keep it from collapsing. I am picking up my cvs valve in town today. I am taking my test tools with me and checking it right on the spot.
