Default Coil pack and wires and plugs.

Hey guys anyone have any idea how much it would usually be to have the coil packs with the spark plugs and wires replaced?, I'm a little apprehensive about trying to take the intake off myself. 😐

to replace the coils the top of the intake has to come off. All told, it is a couple of hours worth of work

What year do you have? As mentioned above it should take a few hours to complete. It’s really not that hard especially if you don’t have SAI. Where I am that job would cost around $700 with parts and labor.

If you can get the studs of the SAI valve brackets out, you can leave the SAI in place.

Are you having ignition problems or are you doing this just to be doing this? I recently did all of the top end rebuild on my V8 with SAI and I'm glad I did it.
BTW... don't forget if you are removing the IM, purchase the Fel-Pro upper intake plenum gasket #MS97221. Also, maybe think about replacing the aging 8 injectors with new o-rings and the Fel-Pro rocker cover gaskets #VS50789R if they are leaking.

I just got my truck back from the mechanic I use. Had the spark plugs, wires and one injector replaced. $550 labor. Was a little surprised but I attempted the job and quickly realized in the 90 degree sun I’ll just pay. Engine was missing very badly. Blinking check engine light. It’s like my truck was getting back at me for not using for 10 days.
