Default Coil Question

I removed my coils to clean under and behind them, and to search for 2 missing bolts from PO repair. The connector for the left bank coil was not locked on and came right off. I think that was my problem. Anyway, someone has replaced one of the coils, because they are both marked 1-2-3-4. Nigel is original and if I remember right has one side marked 5-6-7-8. I looked at the coil map in my shop manual and they were wired correctly. Does anyone know if they are all marked 1-2-3-4 now?
I have the vertical bolts for the plenum, but the horizontal ones were missing.
Thanks Lisa

All the coils are marked 1-4 (some other vehicles that use the same coils are only 4 cylinders). I don’t have an OEM Bosch to look at off hand, but all the aftermarket units are labled 1-4.

Lisa,
I know you are more knowledgeable and capable than most, but want to throw this out there to make sure "1-4" doesn't indicate anything to do with wiring.

on mine there is only two bolts to hold it to the upper intake, and a clip that is long gone, so mine is on with just the 2. It’s an ‘03

the shop who did my Turner short block, didn’t even bother to bolt it in.

Yeah, I don't see the purpose for the other 2, they talk about them in the AB video. I just need to be sure I get the right length of wires in the right place.

my '03 has four bolts for the coil bracket, just like my '99 does.
i know that i've read on several misfire threads on this forum that one of the causes seemed to be that the coil bracket wasn't bolted down properly.

Is the bottom of our coil packs grounded to it's mount bracket?

My eBay coils did not sit down flush in the mount. I remember grinding some clearance to improve the fit, but not sure they are sitting tight enough to ground. This could be a problem if that is in fact where they ground. I'll have to look. Maybe the screws ground them without the bottom touching metal to metal?
