I wasnt sure where this should be posted, but since i own a Discovery I figure I better post here. A minor problem id like to try and fix if i can is the Coin Holder Thing next to the steering wheel, It will not close and click in... would this call for some adjusting or a replacement of a spring of some sort, or might it be easier to just buy a whole deal and put it in? any Ideas, thoughts, suggestions?

 

Can you post a picture of what your are referring to? All I can think of by your description is the ashtray but that is on the opposite of the dash across from the clock. What year and model Disco are we talking about?

 

A replacement is required assuming there is nothing jamming the track movement.

 

1999 D2... The d1 got an ashtray only from what ive read, the d2 got an ashtray and a Coin holder.
my issue is that it wont close and stay shut and my knee hits it while im driving.

 

Mike, the track movement is fine just the closing mechanism might be shot, it will eject great but wont lock shut when u try to close it.

 

Second that...

My coin holder also does not shut and my ashtray is starting to follow.

Everything looks correct with the coin holder and track but the mechanism is not working.

 

I have seen the coin holders cheap on Ebay

 

the coin holders and ashtrays are identical, swap them round, and see if it still does it, that will point to the tray or the dash that has the issue / problem
