Cold Start
I've noticed, ever since I got my truck back in January, that whenever I start up the truck after a good 8 hrs. or so, first, I know its normal for it to rev up alittle higher than normal, but if I don't wait for it to warm up, and I just shift, I hear a metal to metal grinding...
and also,well... its hard to explain.. im driving in reverse and I push on the brakes, and riiiigghht before it stops, it makes a noise...its not the brake pads or anything... it just sounds like, a heavy noise???
oh! and also! whenever I start it cold, the brakes seem to not work as well... like... if im driving at slow speeds and I want brake (i.e. down the driveway) it takes a much longer time to brake then it would if I've had the truck running, and I've been driving around....
Can anyone explain these things to me??
Thanks!

Metal to metal = bad Check all your fluids - it may be time to change them.
Is the "heavy noise" (I swear I had to check to see if you were a girl when I saw this) a very low vrequency vibration? If so that's normal.
Sounds like you need to change your brake fluid.

That metal to metal is a slight grinding and click... like it would be the transmission?? And it revs to a good 1500... then down to 1100... and thats normally when I change gears...
Right now, my dad and I went to test out the sound and he said that the heavy noise is normal... that its the brakes and because they need to warm up, they make that sound..
The grinding noise is a click/"metal squeezing" sound and he says that normal because the gears need to warm up also...
Any insight would be great! Thanks!
