A couple of times now when i go to start MagPie for the first time in the AM, I'll get the battery light. One slight blip of the throttle and the light goes away and everything is all good Starts up every time with out any issues or hard starts etc. It has been in the upper 20's at night lately so quite chilly.
New battery as of March? and just installed new alternator back in Aug -- cleaned all grounds. UG reads 13.6 - 14.2 normally depending on what is turned on.
Throw an amp gauge on it and see what alternator is putting out on start up. If it isn't 13.6 or above, most likely your small trigger wire/terminal is corroded/loose or alternator. Clean/secure small terminal wire really good, might just be a bad connection. If all of that looks good...then alternator may need replaced. Also, make sure all of your grounds and positive cables at battery and engine are clean and secure.
I spent some quality time this summer replacing the alternator in my truck and found this description of how the battery light works in the RAVE. Sounds like the alternator in your truck may not be getting excited fast enough. Counseling or some other therapy may be needed.
Do you mean voltmeter? Or the alternator should be putting out 13.6a at startup?
I'll check the smaller wire on the back of the alt..
Thanks Brian!

Got around to doing some investigating this AM and i think everything is working as it should. Didn't grab the voltmeter in time when i first started the truck but after i blipped the throttle (Batt light was on again) -- Alternator was pumping out a healthy 14.7, battery was 14.6 and UG was reading 14.2
I'll check everything again when the light is actually on and see whats what. I did go ahead and clean the +/- terminals anyways
