Default Computer interface

Hello all, I have a 2001 Land Rover Discovery TD5 (AUTO). A couple of days ago the ABS , HDC (Hill Descent Control) and the TC Lights came up - first the ABS and TC then the TC went away, and then (while braking) the TC and HDC came on. Because of the nature of this "unique" car (all of the lights that have EVER come up have been cables or sensors) I wish to be able to diagnose these problems my self. I am quite savvy with computers and I am getting tired of paying $700 AUD to get a Trans oil sensor, I would like to get a cable and software package for my laptop to plug into the computer. Where could I get it and How Much would this package cost?

There is a device called the ABS Amigo that will read your ABS system. What you are experiencing is known as the 3 amigos, because all 3 rear their ugly head when a fault occurs. The reader will only read and clear the codes for these systems, but runs a few hundred $US. Either do a search on the forum for more info, or someone will get on hee with info.

Cheers

Hawkey is great. It does TD5 also I believe. I've heard good things about the nanocom also for TD5 engines. I'm not sure what the difference in functions between the 2 is.
