Default Condenser Fan...

So... I've read a bunch of threads about the Condenser / Cooling Fan as well as the RAVE. Nothing seems to meet my criteria.

The weather is cooler and the truck has been running lower temperatures. But today it was running up to 200 (normally not more than 194) when stuck in traffic.

When I got home, I jumped out to look at the Condenser / Cooling Fan and it wasn't running... like it normally is. It spins strong when connected directly to the battery.

I'm wondering what's next down the line, or is the ECM telling it not to turn on because the outside temp is below 77 degrees? I wasn't running AC but I normally don't and it usually cuts on in traffic.

What should I check next... relay... ambient temp sensor?

Also... what's the little sensor sticking up in front of the radiator on the right side (facing the truck)?

Nothing to check. If it’s below 80F the condenser fan won’t engage for the AC, and I don’t think it comes on by itself unless the coolant temp is 210 or 220F. Sounds like you are functioning correctly.

Bummer with the the nanocom is they have a firmware bug where the test for the condenser fan doesn’t work. I posted on a thread in their forums on it months ago and still no resolution.

Idling at 200F I wouldn’t think is an issue.
