Default Connecting Fog Lamp to headlight harness

I added an ARB Brush Guard to my Disco 2 and I'm trying to connect the fog lamps to the high beams of the main head lights. The new fog lamp wires: solid red, black, and green don't match any of the colored wires in the harness. I called Atlantic British and ARB and they didn't know which wires to connect them to.

I noticed when I googled many add a relay for a separate switch but I was hoping to add it to the high beams.

I must be smoking too much weed because this should be fairly straight connection.

Any help would be appreciated,
Mike

The RAVE or the D2 electrical manual will have all the info you need. Google will help you find them.

Fog lights are only supposed to be on with low beam, not high beam. Too much scatter with high beams so your depth of field is foreshortened.

If you don't want to use your OEM Fog Light wiring with the new Aux Lights, you need to run new wiring, add a relay, then use one of the High Beam wires as the trigger for the relay. Look up Hella 500 Wiring Diagram on Yahoo or Google.

The Hella instructions will have wiring diagrams for the use of a switch or the use of a trigger aka your High or Low Beam. You just splice into one wire & when you turn on your High Beam the Aux Lights relay is triggered and BOOM your Aux Lights come to life.

I've done it on several vehicles and with the D2's fuse box under the hood it makes it VERY easy to run power to the relay, plenty of places to mount the relay, and also a good ground.
